CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS


1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Ask us how you can help your child prepare for school.

 

BIRTHDAY BOOK CLUB

For children ages 1-8, ask us how you can receive

a FREE book during the month of your child's birthday!

 

Toddler Story Hour

Children accompanied by an adult caregiver are welcome to share in stories, songs, and rhymes at this story time. It is followed by a free play period.

Program is every Monday morning
at 10:00am and 11:00am

 

Mother Goose on the Loose

An early childhood literacy program for babies, toddlers, and their caregivers. A short program of stories, rhymes, and active music play is followed by playtime.

Program is every Thursday at 10am
 

Curious Readers Club

This once-a-month book club is for 1st-5th graders.
We begin with a snack, share books, and finish with
an activity or craft. This club meets the first Tuesday
of every month 4:00pm - 5:00pm. Registration
is required so see Ms. Whitney for more details.

FAMILY PROGRAMS


Family Movie @ the Library

Come join us for some family fun at the library.
 Enjoy a free movie in our Program room.
Snacks will be provided. Movies are shown at
6:00pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Money Smart Story Time

for families with children 9 and under. The first
30 families that register and attend will receive
a free copy of A Dollar for Penny to keep.

ADULT PROGRAMS


Color Me Happy

Coloring isn't just for kids anymore! Join us for
coloring in various designs and patterns. This
practice stimulates the brain while generating
wellness and quietness. This event will take place
the second Monday of every month.

Monday, April 10th: 2:00pm-3:30pm


Tai Chi Classes

These 8-week sessions with certified instructor
Ed Kehoe will teach you the Sun style Tai Chi
which focuses on circular movements, breathing,
concentration, and relaxing the body. Suitable
for people of all levels. Sign-up has begun for
the next session beginning March 15th.

Wednesdays: 6:00pm-7:00pm
8-week session is $80
or drop-in on a class for $12

 

Adult Book Club

Join us in the program room for our adult book
club meeting. We will have two sessions on
the second Tuesday of every month.

2017 Michigan Notable Books Tour

The Paw Paw District Library will be hosting
Desiree Cooper, author of "Know the Mother".
No registration is required and all ages are
welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.
Books will be available for sale and signing.
Sunday, April 2nd at 2:00pm

 

Teen Creative Writing Challenge 2017

All teens in 7th through 12th grade are eligible.
Stop in to pick up information and entry forms
or register online. The deadline is April 15th.


Earth Day Program

FREE family event. Stop in and pick up
free seeds and trees and learn about
Mother Earth from area experts.
Saturday, April 22nd |10:00am-1:00pm

 

TEEN PROGRAMS


Pages 'N Pizza

Beginning, April 17th, 6th-8th graders can
pick up your copy of "Ghost" by Jason Reynolds
and be ready for a book discussion and pizza on
May 24th | 3:00pm
Registration is required and space is limited!

 

USED BOOK SALE


Friends of the Library Used Book Sale

In the lobby of the library for 3 days
with new items put out each day!
May 18th, 19th & 20th
9:00am - 4:00pm

Library users with a valid library card can print
a pass to one of the 70+ participating cultural
institutions at the michiganactivitypass.info
website. Some cultural partners offer complimentary
or reduced price admission; others, discounts in their
gift shop or other exclusive offers. Each Michigan
Activity Pass expires one week from the date it is printed.
